Our programmes are for all young people aged 8-16 and aim to equip young people with a sense of identity, and the tools for a diverse landscape. Schools mark Black History Month each October, but this isn’t enough to ensure that all children are given a proper education on Black history. This was a really quick, succinct and well-written book which covered a lot of stuff that the education system *conveniently* chooses to ignore.We are working towards changing the national curriculum and building a sense of identity in every young person in the UK. Come the early Georgian era (1714-1776) an increasing number of enslaved Africans were brought to Britain to serve wealthy families, as evidenced by the portraits and newspaper pieces reproduced in this book.
