About this deal

These lights can be either permanently lit or flashing and are coded so that the user knows the machine’s status just by looking at these lights.

Coffee Machines | NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Mini Me Coffee Machines | NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto®

Whilst coffee percolators operate at one bar of pressure (normal atmospheric pressure) and a number of other machines operate at no more than two bars, the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto system can operate up to 15 bars.

If there are no lights on or signs of power, you need to dismantle the machine and check where the circuit is opened, because at some point there is an “open circuit”. When the orange light (yellow on some models) lights up steadily, the Dolce Gusto indicates the need to proceed with descaling. Descaling every few months will extend the life of your expensive coffee machine, and massively improve the taste of your coffee. A variation of the above problem is that sometimes the coffee machine switches on with the buttons glowing normally but suddenly switches off after a few seconds. It sometimes happens that one day our Dolce Gusto suddenly doesn’t dispense water when we press the brew button.

Nescafe Dolce Gusto Genio S EDG315.R Pod Coffee Machine-Red

Once beverage preparation is complete and the power button stopped blinking red (about 5s), remove and discard the capsule.

To enter this mode, you must press the power button for 5 seconds and follow the steps indicated in the instruction manual of your particular model. The test of this card requires the possession of an electrical authorization, because it must be connected to the sector.

Switch off the machine, press the power button for 5s until the power button starts blinking and the descaling mode is activated. Take the coffee maker into descaling mode again and perform a “fictitious descaling” with clean water. The amount of beverage depends on the size of the cup, the position of the drip tray, and sometimes the milk and coffee powders which are natural products that might show a small seasonality effect. If you do not want to perform the “fictitious descaling”, you can try to clear the memory by pressing the power button for 30 seconds. The extraction of the Dolce Gusto coffee is made at an optimal temperature, so that it gives a perfect coffee. In the case of a manual machine, you are the one controling the amount of water suitable for your drink. Usually, too much limescale has built up in the Thermoblock; the heating element can no longer heat up as it did when it was new. The fault of excessive vibration in Dolce Gusto coffee machines is not very frequent, but the control board is damaged.
