About this deal

The button in front of the scroll wheel feels much too forward, and the button behind the wheel feels too pushed back. As my machine is dual boot and the mouse works fine in Win10, I assume it is not a hardware problem with the mouse. This function is done all by the mouse itself, no drivers are required to increase or decrease the sensitivity on the fly. There is a hope that over time of using it, it will become smoother as with original MX 518 scrolls did. All you're trying to do is mount the printed battery plate onto the G703 battery cover, to match the CAD screenshot above.

Other than that though, it has performed extremely well over time but I will go into more detail about its performance after I talk about its specifications. It’s even worse than original MX 518 scroll wheel, even as it both seems to be same hardware, Logitech MX 518 G scroll wheel is scratchy with rough and badly defined steps. i'm still using a logitech g5, been using this thing for 12 years now, eyeing other mice for years waiting for this to just break down but it never did. However, the MX518 has a much wider and more precisely adjustable CPI range, and its lift-off distance is lower. I can’t stand a mouse where the scroll wheel feels like it has different sections in it you pass or that’s bumpy on your finger. As an office mouse Logitech MX 518 G is a good mouse, in fact it’s much better than any usual office mouse. no limit to how many replacement pads they will give me for my g7, had about 8 now lolThe feet pads? Technical Specs Sensor, Lift Off distance and rest of the specifications for the Logitech G MX518 mouse.

I can’t stress how important it is for your health to find a mouse that fits and feels right in your hand over extended periods of time. It’s not really that great though – even when it does work, it’s just simply an alternative to using ALT+TAB. If I open a firefox browser, everything (even the buttons) works fine as long as I stay inside the firefox window. The Logitech logo has mostly faded on the top of my mouse, but I dont mind that at all considering how long ive had it.However, I use a Mac and my personal experience is that the Logitech software doesn’t always work as well as the Windows version. The G400s(and other variants) was mentioned earlier in this thread multiple times and it's the mouse I'm using right now. Due to its slight curve and left-side thumb rest, it's designed for right hands, and its sides have a textured detail on the plastic that helps with grip. This 8-button mouse provides up to 15 g of acceleration and gives you precise aiming accuracy with minimal mouse movement. The "case" or "shell" is VERY similar to Qpad 5K and Func MS3 but instead of being a piece of **** its a great mouse.

but with the MX518, the hand fits so comfortably over the mouse, it’s your hand that controls all the action. I've yet to get a (proper) mousemat for use, but I'm sure it'll become even better on a good quality one. The feature I found most useful is the two sensitivity buttons located in front and behind the scroll wheel. A lot of G400 fanatics have gone back to their original model because Logitech struck gold when they produced it, all those years ago. It sets a new bar for pixel-precise tracking, achieving up to 400+ IPS speed across the entire 100-16,000 DPI range—with zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration. Good thing the G703 doesn't have the +/- switches of the MX518, so we can use their space for expansion.

That is testament to the incredible build quality on this mouse, that its still working years after it was made. Place all the components into the G518 baseplate, securing them with the McMaster screws into the inserts. In FPS games, I always set one to "reload" so that I don't have to think about pressing a button on my keyboard. But in my opinion it’s worth every penny and if you’re serious about your gaming, and want to increase your Windows productivity you should give this mouse a try.

You should also note that one more almost exact MX 518 clone with excellent sensor is available on market – “Nixeus Revel Fit”. The “page forward” and “page back” buttons are pretty handy, since they’re very easily accessible especially if you have them bound to a “use” or “reload” function in games. Grab your Dremel and your favorite milling bit (I used this and this for most of it) and try to match to the pictures.
