The proposals also involve converting an existing barn to form staff facilities and 60 car parking spaces at the gin house in Drumloist Road.

Following the official opening, attendees of the launch event were treated to an exclusive tour of the new facility. They entered the market by creating 4 world first flavours in their Sweet Citrus, Smokey Chilli, Chocolate Mint and Mocha gins and have since went on to win numerous awards for their adventurous and unique gin profiles.Personally, I love the aromas in the botanical room, especially the Ancho chillies which give our Smokey Chilli Gin its distinctive flavour. When I first arrived from the whisky industry (which only uses three ingredients), the array of mysterious botanicals blew me away. By scanning the label via the dedicated McQueen Gin app, each bottle 'comes to life' to showcase the secrets of McQueen Gin with a unique full-length animation, giving the drinker a fun insight into the flavour. It is an all- island final as four Hebridean distilleries are in contention for the top award of the night, Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year, sponsored by Contract Bottlers Glasgow Ltd.
