The home of the Hesketh family for many generations, Rufford Old Hall was built by Sir Thomas Hesketh in 1420. Originally it would have had two wings either end of the Great Hall, but over the years there have been major changes to the structure. The West wing is now completely gone and the East wing has been rebuilt. Very little of the original building now stands. One of the many ghosts said to haunt the building is Queen Elizabeth I, spotted often in the dining room. The unassuming former family home at 81 Skegness Road is known around the world as the "Skegness Hell House" due to reported of paranormal activity occurring in the house for more than 30 years. On the abandoned upper floor, strange markings are said to appear on the walls before vanishing again without leaving a trace, the ghost of an old lady and a young boy have been seen, as well as a seven-foot-tall shadowy figure that lurks in the dark recesses of this foreboding place. Most of the team, including Yvette were in the building's boardroom where they were conducting a Ouija board session. Meanwhile Fred was down in the cellar with Karl, where unbeknown to the rest of the team, he was going to perform a voodoo ritual using an eerie doll with Stuart's face on it.

The building, believed to be the oldest unaltered building in London, has been in the hands of antique book dealers, Maggs Bros since the 30s, but was once the private home of Prime Minister George Canning, who claimed to have heard strange noises and have experienced psychic phenomenon. Footsteps have been heard walking along empty corridors, doors open and close of their own accord, disembodied voices are heard in the dead of night and ghostly figures are seen wandering the building, including a terrifying ghost of a woman who passes through a wall where a door used to be. Most Haunted broadcasts a live and interactive special to celebrate the summer solstice from the remarkable Woodchester Mansion in Gloucestershire. This grand Gothic mansion was never finished. Can the team find out why? This was Derek Acorah's last Most Haunted series owing to the controversy he was involved in during its production which cast doubt on his ability to perform his role. [6] As such he did not appear in the final episode at Sinai House. The number of episodes for Series 6 was originally intended to be 18, with the last 11 being part of Series 7. Due to Acorah's departure, the series was extended. This was the first series in which the team conducted 24-hour investigations over in the USA. Acorah didn't return for the show's finale at Sinai House when David Wells was the main medium. Urban legend states that heavy rain postponed her burial. When the groundskeeper returned to the tomb to lay her to rest once the weather cleared, he found Rufina's coffin lid ajar, with scratch marks on the inside. The legend goes that she had been buried alive, and woke in her coffin after suffering a case of 'catalepsy'.

The team re-visit the Blair Street and Niddry Street Vaults and on the final night hold a vigil at Mary King's Close.

The world is a terrifying place. Even the most rudimentary glance at the news will tell you that much, and that's without taking all the ghouls and ghosts into account. Spirits inhabit every corner of the planet, lost between this world and the next, searching for peace, serenity, or maybe just some living people to scare (we don’t want to second guess the motives of ghosts, after all).
