About this deal

Battery life:Battery life is also key in choosing the best wireless earbuds. Wireless earbuds can last about 5 to 10 hours and offer extended playtime with their bundled charging cases — always make sure one is included. And we think they're brilliant options that more than justify their price tag. The buds are impressively small, and their lightweight design helps make them even more comfortable than Sony's XM4. Battery life is competitive at seven and a half hours. These buds are an upgrade on the Melomania 1 from Cambridge Audio. While the Melomania 1 Plus design may look similar to its predecessor, there’s a clear step up in terms of audio performance here, with levels of detail and clarity that could even rival some of the best over-ear headphones. Sennheiser CX 300S In-ear Headphones t ech specs: Battery life: N/A | Noise cancellation: No—but has sound isolation | Voice assistant: No | Waterproof rating: N/A

You don't have an iPhone: If you're an Android user, you'll miss out on features if you get these compared to other earbuds that have app control on Android. During the testing phase, our reviewers wear each pair of headphones for several hours at a time throughout the course of a week. Reviewers will make a note of the battery life performance in real world use, and assess how well this matches the rated battery life provided by earbud makers.

How did we choose these earbuds?

The Anker SoundCore Liberty Air 2 Truly Wireless are budget-friendly in-ears. They're similar in design to Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless, but unlike the Beats Flex Wireless, they don't have Apple's H1 chip. You love touch-sensitive controls: These buds have physical buttons, so you have to press them into your ears to control them – some may not love this.

This gives me no satisfaction. I really wanted these phones. The saound and noise cancellation impressed me. But they were just unusable in practice. What a shame. The Beats Powerbeats Pro Truly Wireless are the best wireless earphones for iPhone geared for sports we've tested. Thanks to their ear-hook design, they stay in place during runs or workouts at the gym. They're significantly more stable in-ear than the similarly priced Apple AirPods (3rd generation) Truly Wireless. They're also comfortable, well-built, and rated IPX4 for resistance against water splashes, so they'll survive an outdoor hike. They last over 11 hours continuously on a single charge, and their carrying case holds roughly one extra charge, which is handy in a pinch.Apple didn't change too much about the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) from last year to this year, with the exception of the new USB-C port. Apple replaced its signature Lightning port with a USB-C port for its newest lineup of iPhones, its AirPods Pro, and Apple Watches. Thanks to Apple's new and improved H2 chip, these AirPods have better performance and more immersion via high-band connectivity and a low-distortion audio driver with a custom amplifier. The technologies combine to ensure clearer audio across various sound frequencies, making them the best-sounding AirPods to date. Sony's excellent wireless earbuds slot neatly between the budget WF-C500 (no ANC) and premium WF-1000XM5. The Sony WF-1000XM4 Truly Wireless have a customizable sound profile and a great noise isolation performance. They have a recessed treble range compared to the next-generation Sony WF-1000XM5 Truly Wireless. Their noise isolation isn't as impressive as the next-gen, either. The Bose app allows you to alter the amount of noise-cancelling on offer via a number of customisable presets and, speaking of noise-cancelling, the new Bose are still at the top of their game. They can automatically adjust the amount of ANC on offer so your music isn’t drowned out by particularly loud noises and the effect is deeply impressive. As for sound, it's balanced and neutral and overflowing with fine detail. Call quality is good for the money too. Their default sound profile is well-balanced and versatile enough for all kinds of audio content. Unlike Apple's wireless headphones, the Sony headphones' sound profile can be fine-tuned using their companion app's graphic EQ and presets. While they aren't compatible with Apple Music's Spatial Audio, they have their own proprietary virtual soundstage called 360 Audio. However, a subscription to a compatible streaming service like Tidal will be required. Their battery lasts around eight hours with ANC on, but their carrying case only comes with one additional charge, which is disappointing compared to the Apple AirPods (3rd generation) Truly Wireless' five.
